Discussion
this is the wrong place for the concrete preparation, discuss in more
general terms
What exactly is planned for the Actionday? So far mostly the
demonstration.
We need to broaden the preparation! (e.g. turkish, lebanese,
palestinian &
kurdish groups)
Topics: G8 and migration-control (this is one of the major topics of
the
21st century). Status of refugees, Loss of Asylum, loss of political
rights (e.g. right to organize / to demonstrate); Same rights for
everyone!
On the meeting in January we will discuss a call for action
topic of migration can't be taken over by nazi scum
ARI is initiating an alliance in Berlin and planning a series of events
concerning political prisoners
Points for the plenary session
1.Migration is not a special topic but plays a role in all different
parts
of the mobilizations. So we ask everybody to take part. The 3rd of June
is
no „holiday“
2.Everybody must have the same rights and chances to participate and
bring
in one's own perspectives in the preparation process
3.Coordination between caravans, Euromärsche (Euro-Marches),
bicycle-tours
4.International Networking! Please contact us!
Meetings to come:
16.12. Hannover: Euromärsche (Euro Marches)
23.12. Bremen: northern-german caravan-groups
6./7.1. Berlin: nationwide preparational meeting Migration-G8
Discussion on Sunday
In the discussions on Sunday morning some people took part that weren't
there the day before. We startet with two questions concerning the
demonstration „papers for all“ on Friday:
1.Why did only 50 non-migrant people participate, although the
demonstration was decided and announced to be the start of the
Action-Conference?
2.Why where there only 120 Euro collected on the plenary for the
travelling-costs of the refugees (600 Euro were needed)?
Starting from here we developed the question, what solidarity with
refugees and collaboration with equal chances means concretely and how
we
can transport this to the plenary sesssion. It can't be enough to
decide
to do an migration-actionday. Migration and the collaboration with
refugees and migrants have to be a topic during the whole preparation
and
during the actions aganist the G8! In the plenary three points should
be
pointed out concerning „same chances for refugees“ in this context:
1.money, e.g. tickets, has to be acquired, since refugess don't have
any.
2.Language-problems have to be resolved through translation of all
meetings and the important papers.
3.Different situations, problems and discussions of refugees and
non-refugees have to be considered.
Concerning the third point we had a discussion about the things that –
except the lack of money – make it harder to mobilize refugees.
Refugees
themselves pointed out that many are afraid (more than non-refugees) of
repression when they become active. They are threatened by deportation
and
don't see much support to fight against deportation collectively.
Because
of that they look for individual ways which is also the principle of
the
state's asylum-procedure (e.g. Härtefallprüfungen). Because of this
successes with collective actions are very important to mobilize more
refugees. This requires broad support. Such a success was the
enforcement
of the deportation-stop to Togo, which ended on Oct. 10th. Because of
this
besides the struggle against the capitalist system and the G8 that
refugees want to carry out together with others, a broad struggle
against
deportation is necessary.
We decided, that a german activist and a refugee bring these points to
the
plenary together. There we want to collect more money and call for
solidarity and collaboration with equal chances with refugees. This was
done at the beginning of the plenary and we received positive feedback.
For example a journalist from the NDR (northern-german broadcast) who
wanted to do a report about the Innenministerkonferenz (Conference of
the
ministers of state) and about the situation of a refugee from Togo. The
question of money for train-tickets has to be addressed sooner in the
future.
